The Technology
GCORE™ is the world's only proven commercial-scale mixed-waste gasifier — cleaner, highly efficient, more compact, and engineered over twenty-five years of development.
THE TECHNOLOGY
GCORE™ — clean, low-carbon, highly calorific syngas
GCORE's unique waste gasifier produces a synthetic gas that is clean, low-carbon and highly calorific. Fed into standard gas turbine generators it delivers 35 MWh of always-on power, all day, every day, for the next 30+ years.
Proven. Inspected. Validated. Commercially ready to deploy, with a replicable plant design. A build cycle of roughly 24 months at a unit cost of less than £200 million, and a multi-market pipeline of opportunities across the UK, Ireland, the European Union and beyond.
GCORE is the first investable bridge between two of the world's most intractable problems: the waste we cannot manage, and the clean, always-on power we cannot cleanly generate.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFIT
Mixed waste — all landfill, all non-recyclable plastics, every other category of waste
Global municipal waste already exceeds 2.1 billion tonnes a year, and industrial, construction and demolition waste is bigger still. Recycling infrastructure is failing — European centres are closing, and the export-to-Asia route has effectively stopped. Almost all of it, today, goes straight to landfill.
Environmentally, GCORE could be the silver bullet for waste management. Optimised for mixed loads of diverted landfill, construction, industrial and other non-recyclable waste. Pre-treatment and waste-sorting are not required. This opens almost endless commercial, social and environmentally beneficial opportunities for GCORE's unique technology.
With a small footprint of just 2 hectares, a GCORE plant can deliver power directly for large-scale users — such as data centres and logistics hubs — or over a local network connection for local commercial users. 24/7 power, independent of global markets and renewables costs. Securely delivered locally, sustainably and cleanly.
UNIQUE PROCESS
Total destruction of waste
Waste converts into 97% syngas, 3% recovered metals and commercially desirable blast furnace sand.
THE ENGINEERING
An accidental discovery, now an engineered clean-power solution
GCORE's reaction chamber was not originally built as a gasifier. The engineering is therefore different; it doesn't look like other gasifiers, and it doesn't work like other gasifiers. It is cleaner, more compact, more robust and operates at significantly higher temperatures. The discovery that its operation delivers an unprecedented high volume of hydrogen-rich clean synthetic gas, far outstripping all known gasification technology, was an unexpected development outside the original design parameters.
The lead PhD professor and his chief engineer subsequently privately developed, tested and refined it over 25 years, building two working prototypes. It is their 4th generation GCORE process that has been adopted by NPV.
That same team are retained advisors to NPV and will be actively involved in its early project builds. The lead process engineer for the second prototype joins NPV full-time, as Chief Technology Officer.
