Waste - What Happens To Our Rubbish?
What happens to our rubbish?
In Europe & UK almost half still goes to landfill – and that’s one of the “better” global statistics.
Tens of millions of tonnes a year.
Where it degrades and leaches toxins. Or worse, self-ignites.
Even recycled products are ultimately thrown in a bin.
Incineration isn’t the answer, either. IBA – Incinerator Bottom Ash – is so plentiful that UK government statistical service awarded it its own waste category.
Incineration is widely considered more environmentally harmful than burning fossil fuels; many regions & governments have banned new developments.
And incineration has a problem with plastics, composites, metals and hazardous materials.
Thankfully, NPV has the solution…
